DISH Network currently offers two levels of HD programming. DishHD Essential is $10 per month, and is a basic HD addition to your normal DISH Network package. Anywhere from 28 to 39 HD channels will be accessible, as more channels are available if you subscribe to a higher level package. Popular HD channels such as ESPN, TNT and Discovery are included in this package.
The second level offered by DISH Network is the all-inclusive package. DishHD Ultimate is $20 per month, and adds 7 HD channels. This tier used to have the VOOM HD family of channels, but those were removed in May 2008. Additional HD offerings here include HDNet Movies, MGM HD and NBA TV.
Finally, DISH Network offers a stand-alone HD package. The DishHD base package offers all of the channels from the Essential and Ultimate packages, but does not offer any standard definition programming. Offered at $29.99 a month, this stand-alone package caters to the viewer who only wants HD programming.
