Turbo HD Gold Dish Network

Dish Network Turbo HD Gold is a new satellite TV package for high definition fans. Designed as a bundle of 100% HD channels, this affordable package is great for customers who have become spoiled watching HD content.

Turbo HD Gold offers an alternative to cable TV and DIRECTV in that you can subscribe to just the HD content you might watch exclusively. Cable TV companies like Time Warner Cable often claim to offer “free HD” but the price is raised to compensate for the cost to deliver hi definition content. DIRECTV offers HD for $9.99 a month, that being in addition to any regular programming package you might subscribe to, such as the DIRECTV Choice bundle.

Most cable TV networks that are in high demand have already begun to broadcast in HD. This includes popular sports networks like ESPN, news outlets like CNN and FOX News channel, and popular cable networks like TNT and TBS. With Turbo HD Gold, you will receive all of the best that is available in HD, and none of the junk, like home shopping channels.

Current pricing on Dish Network TurboHD Gold is $39.99 per month to start. After that there are several options that will enhance your Turbo HD Gold service. The first is to add DISH Network local channels. Currently, DISH Network reaches about 70% of US households with hi def local HD programming. If you are in an area where DISH Network can provide you with local HD, it will cost you $5 per month extra. Check here to see if your area has local HD from Dish.

Now while DISH Network claims to have over 100 channels of HD, that number is a bit confusing. That number includes all of the pay per view and video-on-demand channels available in HD. It also includes all of the premium movie packages like HBO, Starz, and Showtime. The actual DISH Network Turbo HD Gold package doesn’t have nearly the number of HD channels that Dish promotes.

The Turbo HD Gold package currently contains 40 hi def channels. In addition, you will have access to six HD PPV channels, and 14 Video on demand channels in HD. You may also receive a regional sports network or two depending on the area you live in. Here is a current list of the channels in the Turbo HD package:

Now if you already have either the DISH Network America’s Top 250 or the Dish Network America’s Everything Pack, you can also add in the TurboHD Gold package. In this case, you would pay for the base price of whatever package you have subscribe to, and then add $10 per month for Turbo HD Gold. Current promotional offers for new customers also have the Turbo HD Platinum package available for free for the first three months. Turbo HD Platinum adds another 7 HD channels to the Turbo HD Gold package. DISH Network deals are always out there, so be sure to check our recommended promotional offers for new customers.

Finally, there is one additional cost that you will be happy to pay for when subscribing to DISH Network Turbo HD. That is for the DishDVR, a marvelous addition to any plasma television set. Generally, there is no cost for new subscribers for the DishDVR, though there is a monthly fee. The fee for DVR service is usually around $6 per month, but some of the higher end standard packages include the DVR fee. The DISH ViP 722 DVR is an award winning device that can record up to 55 hours of high definition content for later viewing.

Overall, the DISH Network Turbo HD Gold package is an affordable alternative to both cable TV and DIRECTV satellite.

Why is everything always so much cheaper in the USA than in the UK? We don’t even get better service.

It’s called inflation.
