DIRECTV Offers Mega March Madness

The 2008 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, also known as “March Madness” kicks off on Thursday, March 20th as first round action gets underway. The selection show on Sunday, March 16th is bracket day, as the NCAA tournament committee seeds the teams into four regional brackets.

While CBS Sports will once again do a fine job of covering March Madness, there is always room for improvement. True hoops fans thus recognize the value of the DIRECTV Mega March Madness package.

This package gives you up to 37 NCAA tournament games from outside your normal viewing region. This is the only way to be sure to see your team, even if you live out of the normal local programming area. The package is priced at $69 for the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

In addition to all of the great games, Direct TV’s Mega March Madness also offers several extras to entice the sports fan. The first being more High Definition. Those who are HD ready can expect to see several of the games broadcast in the crystal clear format. Also part of the package is the Mega March Madness Game Mix, where viewers can see up to four of the games at once, all on a single screen.

Additional features include an interactive tournament bracket. Viewers can make their picks via remote control, then compare how well they are doing as the tournament rolls on. Another interactive feature called the “L-Wrap” application allows you to check the scores and stats on other games, while staying on the game your currently viewing.

Finally, if you miss out on any of the action, catch up with Mega March Madness short cuts. These recap the games without commercials, in 20 minutes or less. See all of the highlights and important plays you missed out on, as 63 game recaps are included here.

Overall, the Direct TV Mega March Madness package delivers huge amount of NCAA Basketball content at a great price.

Nicely written article, but one thing is inaccurate. This package does not offer shortcuts. They do not offer that same or similar feataure as the NFL Sunday Ticket Super Fan.

I bought this package because I was laid up after surgery in March, it was awesome. A little pricey to pay $70 for basically two weekends of action, but the college basketball coverage was great!

This looks interesting. I always watch plenty of NCAA tournament action on Dish Network, but I am considering a switch. The price isnt too bad.

Just switched to DirectTV about a week ago, and didnt know they had this package. I think Im going to give it a try, as I am a bracket junkie. Now I’ll only have to make sure to get Thursday and Friday off of work that first weekend of the NCAA tournament :)
