DIRECTV announced yesterday the start of local channel broadcasting in the Butte-Bozeman, Montana viewing area. Viewers in these areas can now see local news, weather, sports and prime time network broadcasting via DIRECTV satellite service. Qualifying equipment and programming packages for local channel access are required.

DIRECTV now offers standard definition (SD) local channel programming in 147 markets, covering approximately 94% of U.S. TV households.
