The NFL network has done an end around, at least in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A last minute deal was inked with local station KDFI 27. According to the station, the game will now be available to more than 90 percent of the north Texas region.

Fans of the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers have been mulling their options, as many have been locked out of the game because of the ongoing Cable TV-NFL Network dispute.

The network is available on satellite providers DIRECTV and Dish Network, as well as 240 cable systems from coast to coast, mainly smaller operators.

Large cable outfits Comcast, Time Warner, and Cablevision have not yet reached an agreement to carry the NFL network on their basic tiers, though Comcast does offer the network along with several other specialty sports channels for an additional monthly fee.  The move certainly satisfies most Dallas Cowboy fans in the north Texas area, though many fans across the country will still be locked out of the game. The move also saves face for Jerry Jones, Cowboys owner and the often outspoken salesman for the NFL network.

While Jones certainly would have taken a hit if local access had been totally restricted to the NFL network, he now will certainly keep pounding away at Big Cable.
